Shooting From a Front Headlock

If you shot from a front head lock position- to a cross leg high crotch, would you shoot across with your free arm shoot with arm losing the front HL and keep the opponents other arm? Thanks!

Free arm for the position you are talking about and here are a few other techniques from this position:

Penetration Step Question

I've heard many times that the penetration knee should be on the side of the opponent's toe, I've seen breakdowns that the knee is a little less deeper, on the side of the opponent's foot (inside part of it), and sometimes they say you have to go as deep as you can get.

You are over thinking the step here are some basic fundamentals in regard to the penetration step.  I would put your focus on trying to blow through your opponent.
My second question is about penetration knee placement again, but now on the head inside single leg shot, sometimes they say the knee should be on the side of the opponent's foot (outside part of it), and sometimes they show the knee being behind the opponent's foot (saw Burroughs and Sanderson showing this way on youtube):

What's the ideal position for the penetration knee to be in this case?

Below are a couple examples on the penetration step but it depends on what you choose to shoot or what your opponent is open for.
Last on a single leg I would like to sweep outside his legs and get away from his hips.  You will notice in this video I don't get to the outside 100% but I'm trying to get there.

How to Defend High Crotch

What is the best way to defend the high c in folk style wrestling?

John, that is a broad question because the high crotch can shift to different scrambles.  Sprawling properly is the most important but here are a couple things that will help you.  You can also visit Defending High Crotch Basics for more videos.

How to Defend Mid Level Gutwrench

Otje

This is just one way to stop a gutwrench but there are so many other ways as well as high, mid, and low gutwrench attacks.
