I think the two piece is more appealling to those who are not so familiar with wrestling. But I have competed in both, and from the athlete perspective I perfer the traditional one piece. It's a bit more compfortable, plus the top of the two piece is a pain to take off between matches. I think some people forget that wrestling is just one of many sports that use singlets; weightlifting, sprinting, track, ect. It's not broke, why fix it? I think the two piece will continue to rise in popularity within college and high school competition, but i don't think it will ever catch on internationally.

i like the one piece singlet better. it looks more like a bike uniform than the singlets that i've wrestled in for years. i'm not really surprised that they made a two piece singlet though. it's more covering than anything i've ever used in a wrestling match, but it doesn't cover that much more than my own singlets so i don't see what the big deal is... i actually saw another wrestler wearing a two piece singlet in a tournament and i just thought it was kinda weird. i thought that his top was going to become untucked and they were going to have to stop the match and he'd have to fix it and it didn't happen. I don't think the fact that it's a two piece will affect it much. who knows though? maybe a two piece singlet will make wrestling more popular and i think we could all go for that. am I right? as for me, i'm not going to get a two piece until I need to.
